Friday at the Flicks - Hedgehogs

Yesterday I set up the Panasonic hard drive camcorder up to film any birds bathing in the garden pond waterfall. It has the advantage of being able to film unattended for long periods as there is space for over 25 hours of video on the hard drive and a decent battery will last for about 2.5 hrs. I tried three sessions totalling about 1.5 hrs - result - nothing! Not a single bird though I chose times which are normally popular with the birds. Typical.

I did manage to get a few views of the hedgehogs which visit after dark. There are at least two which visit every night.

Have a great weekend observing the wildlife wherever you are.

  3. Wow John, 25 hours of video to check through... your'e a stronger man than me! I know what it's like in the 1.5hr preview sessions.

Nice to see your hedgehog video. Great you still have regulars. As I've said in a previous comment don't know if we have them just now. They've been neglected recently. You'll see why in my latest post.

  4. After all that planning, setting up and watching for birds it must have been a real surprise and disappointment to get nothing! Good to see the hedgehogs, though :) How about the heat you are getting...it's made the news worldwide :)

  6. Hello Shirl. The hard drive holds 25 hrs but takes many months / years of clips to fill it. I just fast forwarded through the recent video.

  7. Typical infuriating wildlife Glo. You can see why it takes years to make a few hours of documentary for TV.

It has been really hot here on the East coast. Don't know what I would have done without the air conditioning as it reached 28C+ for several days.
