Exercise For People Over 50

EXERCISE FOR PEOPLE OVER 50:

Begin by standing on a comfortable surface, where you have plenty of room at each side.

With a 5-lb  potato bag in each hand, extend your arms straight out from your sides and hold them there as long as you can. Try to reach a full minute, and then relax.

Each day you'll find that you can hold this position for just a bit longer.

After a couple of weeks, move up to 10-lb  potato bags.

Then try 50-lb potato bags, (I'm at this level) and then eventually try to get to where you can lift a 100-lb potato bag in each hand and hold your arms straight for more than a full minute.

After you feel confident at that level, put a potato in each bag. ;>)

    2. We are having an abnormally nice early spring. Its been in the 70 F - 80 F and its very hard to go to bed when its so nice at night. We enjoy our short lived warm weather no matter how/when we get it.
q: will Hedgehogs "stay" in a yard that they like/or do they wander? and where do they hibernate? (we don't have "wild" ones in Minnesota/they are kept as indoor exotic pets however).

    3. While we had very warm days last week night temperatures were always down below 8C.

The hedgehogs will have nests under a hedge or shed somewhere but fully grown males can cover 2 miles in their wanderings each night so they could be anywhere in the village. Mine are true visitors either wandering down the front path or using gaps under the side fence. For hibernation they find a sheltered spot, hedge bottom, under a shed, compost heap or similar, and make a cosy nest of dried vegetation.

  3. That's so funny John, I didn't see the punch line coming at all and had completely forgotten it was the 1st of April :-)

Excellent photos of the juvenile Hedgehog on the previous post. Incidentally, I didn't even know you could get flexible lens hoods.

      Top 2 - fully extended
      Bottom left - folded back
Bottom right - bend any way you want.
Doesn't break if you happen to clout something with it. Folds back for easy access to lens cap and for storage in situ.

For anyone interested - they used to available at camera shops, may still be. Plenty on eBay - search for 'rubber lens hood', amazingly cheap.

  6. This is a good common sense Blog. Very helpful to one who is just finding the resources about this part. It will certainly help educate me.
