Friday at the Flicks - Magpie on the Bird Table

At last I managed to snatch some pieces of video when the Magpie visited the Bird Table.
Once again the lighting is a mix of dull daylight and Infra Red:

Visit Shirls's Gardenwatch site for a beautiful close video of a tiny Wren foraging.

  1. Little devil ate what it could and then departed with a beak full to bury. It could become an expensive bird.

    1. Adrian: Squirrels and Magpies are tops when it comes to grabbing and hiding food.

  2. Great capture, again John. I have captured some footage of Magpies on my colourful bird table too (yet to be uploaded) with the outside view. I love the inside view you are getting. Your diner has reasonable table manners - mine have been very messy! I've joined you posting a video today :-)

    1. Thank you Shirley. I was going to re-build the bird table with a slightly higher roof to get the camera a bit further away but that has gone on the Round Tuit pile for better weather conditions. Thanks again for another link from your blog.

  3. We don't have Magpies in my part of the world (SW Indiana, USA). I would be very happy to see one here. Fun video to see.

    1. Lisa. They can be a bit of a nuisance at times but are fun to watch as they work out how to get at any food which is put out.

  5. That's one large bird, with one very large beak! Between him and your grey squirrel (that looks like my Quigley), you'll be kept very busy at the Birdy Bistro...
