Friday at the Flicks - Starlings and the Mealworm Treats

I found a pack of mealworm treats which are mixed in tallow. Very sticky stuff to handle. I put some on the bird tables and settled back to see which birds would go for them. No surprise when the Starlings were the first, and only, birds to gobble them up:

Have a great weekend observing the behaviour of the wildlife around you.

I saw one report that when Serif's Affinity Photo finally appears on the Mac App store it will be $50, less a cent or two, which will include free updates for two years. With the facilities it contains and the amazing speed it works at it should be well worth the price. I don't know what will happen with the free beta versions. Maybe they will be disabled. We will just have to wait and see.

  1. It's good to see someone enjoying their food.

    1. Adrian: It would take a volcanic explosion to put Starlings off their food.

  3. I signed up to get the beta version, John. I will be able to download it when I am in Texas next week. $50 is not a bad price if it does most of what you want it to. But is a great price! Cheers!

    1. Wilma: There might even be a more up to date beta version by then. Some things are not fully working as yet but with the number of people able to try it out and report any problems it should get better and better quite quickly.

  4. That is some interesting looking bird food. I hope the other birds get to try it out. Starlings seem to have bottomless innards. ;) Nice clear video.

    1. Glo: It is quite unusual. I think the smaller birds find it too sticky. Like Penny, Starlings seem to have hollow legs to make room for more food!
