Probably the lavender bushes are the attraction and they have only been in for two years.Midmarsh Johnhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10980417659811194899noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8626959970978663576.post-60077964546506072712009-09-13T08:23:12.025+01:002009-09-13T08:23:12.025+01:00Another enjoyable post John and I always look forw...Another enjoyable post John and I always look forward to your video footage.

Those flutters are lovely - as are all your pictures of them; I get the impression there's more of them about in general this year (the flutters that is :) ).Tricia Ryderhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05010432313312804286noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8626959970978663576.post-72524567978185622172009-09-13T07:34:26.995+01:002009-09-13T07:34:26.995+01:00Thanks Keith. When the Magpies started visiting I was worried as they have a reputation for being a nuisance and poking their beaks into everything but my visitors are extremely shy.Midmarsh Johnhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10980417659811194899noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8626959970978663576.post-92057273682871625162009-09-11T19:25:16.557+01:002009-09-11T19:25:16.557+01:00Lovely video of the Magpie John. I don't know whether it is just a 'feeling happy' sort of thing or if they are communicating with others.

I was really pleased with the Comma photo. It turned out better than I expected. The ones I saw seemed to like bramble bushes so I guess that is why they don't visit me.

The apple trees are in next door's garden and most of the fruit ends up rotting on the ground.Midmarsh Johnhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10980417659811194899noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8626959970978663576.post-36743239178999195162009-09-11T13:11:13.464+01:002009-09-11T13:11:13.464+01:00That is such a distinctive call from the Magpie Jo...That is such a distinctive call from the Magpie John, I haven't heard or seen them in the garden anywhere near as much as I did last year.

That is a beautiful photo of the Comma, I have captured them while on walks but like you they never visit the garden.

There is a very good crop of apples on that tree!ShySongbirdhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08148381873578585910noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8626959970978663576.post-13419197799406989952009-09-11T11:12:27.323+01:002009-09-11T11:12:27.323+01:00Thanks for the confirmation for the flutter photo ...Thanks for the confirmation for the flutter photo Roy.
