Mixed Weather Day

The four legged boss got me up about 5 a.m. to go in the garden. I was surprised just how thick the fog was and was grateful to return to a comfy warm bed. Walkies about 7.30 a.m., clear except for the clouds of breath from both our mouths. About 8.30 it was back to thick fog which cleared in less than an hour. Afternoon was cold but mainly Sunny so we were treated to a somewhat colourful though short lived Sunset:

Weird Wednesday

Not a lot of any note going on nature wise round here so far this year with next door changing hands. Lots of garden clearance and bringing the property up to date so I thought I would try something different. An occasional series of Weird Wednesdays. Here is the first. Bet you can't work out what it started out as before I had a play with it:

My New Buddy

For a couple of weeks a female Blackbird has usually flown in to greet us when we returned from our mid afternoon walks. She usually lands on top of the fence a couple of feet away, watches and follows me knowing that I will be putting some food out for her.



She has gradually become bolder and will now feed a few feet away from me. For this bit of video I crouched down about three feet (1m) away. She watched me for a short while and then tucked in to some mini suet sticks:



I try to get a bit closer each day and hope she may end up taking food from my hand.
