Incy Wincy Spider

Incy Wincy spider climbing up the spout
Down came the rain and washed the spider out
Out came the sunshine and dried up all the rain
And Incy Wincy spider climbed up the spout again

I doubt this little spider has been anywhere near a drain pipe as it was found indoors.
I think it is some form of Amaurobius. This one was only 10mm or so across.
These are stacked photos using Zerene Stacker on hand held shots.

  1. You are better at this stacking job than I am.
It does look like a Lace Weaver but not from the mouth end. I wonder if it is a young Wolf Spider.

    1. Adrian: When I started Zerene there was a new update so I guess it is getting better at handling stacks where the subject lies in slightly different places in each shot. It was a fearless little spider. It didn't run away once while I was sticking the lens a few inches away.
If you do update Zerene by removing the old versions first, make sure you have a copy of your licence key as it will be needed after the new version is installed.

    2. Ta John, I'll have a look at the upgrade. I won't have a copy of the key as I will have copied and pasted it originally.

  2. Beautiful spider - the stacking looks perfect. I am very partial spiders.

Thank you for visiting. Hope you enjoyed the pictures. Any comment, or correction to any information or identification I get wrong, is most welcome. John
