Open air Larder

Looking out of the kitchen window yesterday I couldn't help noticing that one spider had built its web in just the right place. There were so many small flies caught in it I could almost make out the shape of the web.

Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner for a Spider

I think it will take it the rest of the week to wrap them all up and store them away for a rainy day.

  3. When I have a glut of food, I put them in ziploc bags in the freezer! Perhaps your spider might do that?

  5. It had to rebuild its web after gathering that lot and it was full again the next day Keith so I think it will have to go on a diet soon.

  6. I have seen a report, Adrian, that the reoblem with the FatBirder sites has now been fixed so I have reinstated the counter, etc..
I think the spider will have to double up on strands.

  7. Hello Kelly. The spider got its web right on the fly flight path and is still catching them by the dozen.

  8. I leave the spider a not Matron. I think it is stuffing them all inside the tubes at the top of the clothes post at the moment.
