Last week's Guess What is difficult (as far as I am concerned) to name accurately. It is a type of polypore or bracket fungus which I found growing on an old tree stump in the garden......
..... so I think a is deserved by Andrew, Adrian, Glo, Keith and Wilma for their suggestions.
This week's mystery photo should be much easier to identify.
Guess What:
No prizes, just for fun.
It's Henry the Hedgehog. The polypore could be artists fungus if it's pure white underneath. If you go to investigate take a stick to help you back to your feet.
ReplyDeleteA lovely Hedgehog John :-)
ReplyDeleteIt`s a pixelated spikey! ;)

ReplyDeleteAhha ~ It's Henry (or Hubert or Hortense...) Hedgehog!
ReplyDeleteHi John.
ReplyDeleteFirstly, we wish you a very happy and healthy New Year. We couldn't let this one go without putting in an answer - we think it's a hedgehog ! We also hope Bobby is doing OK. We were very sorry to read that he'd been poorly recently as we know he's great company and a great buddy for you. We still have our three tiny tearaways (autumn juvi's) in with us, though they're far from tiny now (each weighs well over a kilo). Thankfully, they're all one sex - girls. They are all ever so active at night - we suppose they are just longing to get out into the wild again, although it will be some time before they'll be ready to release (they've not hibernated and they are used to much warmer temps and of course, food on tap)...
