Waiting for Breakfast

A Sparrowhawk sitting on an old outdoor chair, less than 6 feet (2 metres) away from the bird feeders, trying to blend in with the fence and patiently waiting for any small bird to visit.

This time the ruse was unsuccessful.

    1. Thank you Phil. It helps when they sit so close to the kitchen.

  2. That's a brilliant visitor. The downside is it's will be the only visitor.

    1. It was a treat, Adrian, to see it so close. As you say, at the time it was the only visitor.

  4. It's a majestic looking bird - but if it were in my backyard looking for "my" little birds I might be tempted to shoo it away!

    1. I take a few photos, Mick, and then make sure it sees me which soon makes it choose somewhere else. All the small birds were hiding in complete silence.

  5. They are some nice shots John, like the last one where he has fixed you with his steely glare!

    1. Thank you John. That gaze can be very unnerving.
