Several juvenile Wood Pigeons visiting recently - as if there weren't enough of them about already. This morning I spotted an adult feeding a juvenile:
Have a great weekend observing the wildlife around you.
I read somewhere a while ago John, that the Woodie population never seems to vary much, but is around 5.3 million pairs. They are a very adaptable species and eats a variety of food through the year, including most things in your garden.{:))
Thank you for visiting. Hope you enjoyed the pictures. Any comment, or correction to any information or identification I get wrong, is most welcome. John
These have to be my least favourite bird but I softened a little whilst watching this.
ReplyDeleteMy main gripe with them, Adrian, is the mess they make, especially under every street standard lamp.

Good for clearing up spilt seed Roy. They just leave such a mess wherever they have been.
Deletethe little one is rather klutzy, but cute!
ReplyDeleteTWG. I loved the way the youngster wraps one wing over the parent which it did many times before I started filming.
