I had been toying with the idea of a display for my bay window on Halloween:
I'm still not sure whether I will use it as it may be too scary for any little ones who see it so I decided to use it as the main character in a video I've been working on which will be uploaded Saturday rather than Friday.
The Skull has several 12V LED lights, one inside it and others around it. They are controlled by an Arduino programmable mini computer so each is switched on and off at random intervals. The lighting is a mixture of a white skull with red and green surrounding lights. In total darkness the effect could look very scary.
Bring it on. Kids are never that scared.. They need scaring that's what they come out for . It's All Hallows Eve. Hide round the corner and when they ring the bell jump out and go Whoooa. They don't come round again but from personal experience the busies will.
ReplyDeleteAdrian: Problem these days is if some snotty kid has nightmares or wets the bed one can end up with a law suit.
DeleteCan't wait to see the results :) What fun! I know what you mean about scaring the kids. I have a skeleton poster that covers the front door window, and I add a plastic skull head with green eyes, and lower down another one with red eyes. I heard some kids say last year...oh, don't go there it looks too scary..and the other one said, but Happy Halloween is flashing in the other window... I think they came overcame their fear in hopes of some goodies ;)
ReplyDeleteGlo: I hope you enjoy it.
DeleteIndeed I did enjoy your presentation! That was a lot of creative work ~ the audio came through really well, too. Now the skull will need to replace his cap with a new red hat with white trim for the next video ;) You have just over 50 days prep time... ho ho ho
