Until I processed the photos I though I was looking at one spider but when I looked closely there seemed to be too many legs. These focus stacked photos were taken about half an hour apart.
No good asking me what is going on here:
My best guesses give two possibilities.
Two spiders mating
Two spiders having a slow motion battle.
Never noticed anything like this. I can't remember seeing a spider like this either. I the second picture is a spiderling which I suspect rule out mating.

Adrian: The spiderling is just an empty husk. Had another look today. Just one spider skulking in a crevice. Where it was yesterday is its food store - earwig, lacewing and some other bits.
