Good to see normal summer weather. Plenty of thunderstorms this year but no ground strikes here. I resurrected my Arduino strike trigger but it still never found one. It works if I fire a strobe at it in daylight from abouty a hundred feet. Got our first hail storm late afternoon yesterday but only cos God had seen the effort involved in getting the combine to work.
Hail storms always have me feeling very anxious, running from window to window to see if anything outside needs saving. I have virtually risked life and limb (or so it seemed!) rescuing some pot pot plants and saving baby birds knocked out of their nests and I'm ALWAYS relieved when the storm is over! I do realise that hails storms are a necessary part of nature, cleaning up the old and making place for the new, etc, etc, but that still doesn't stop me panicking when I hear the first few dreadful "clunks" on the roof.
Maree: I know what you mean. It can be so loud and there is no way to get away from the sound. I can see that hail also make a good paint stripper here. Ther was no way I was going out in that. It looked painful.
Thank you for visiting. Hope you enjoyed the pictures. Any comment, or correction to any information or identification I get wrong, is most welcome. John
That was loud!
ReplyDeleteThat made me jump.
ReplyDeleteWeaver: The sound made me jump when it started.
