Monday Montage

Title 1

Last Monday I presented this WidsMob Montage for you to identify:

Montage 03

As Ragged Robin and Wilma suggested it was of:

DSCN8152

a grotesque carving on the side of a church.

A gargoyle is a carving with some form of hole or spout to drain water from the roof whereas a grotesque is just a decorative carving.

As always my thanks to everyone who had a go at identifying it.

Now for a new one for you to identify:
Montage 02

If you wish to make a guess please leave it in the comments.
They will be revealed, along with the original photo, next Monday.

  1. Super photo of the grotesque - so pleased I got it right! I looked at this week's and thought I hadn't got a clue - first thoughts a goblin in a wood! Then things became clearer and I think it may be one of the tree surgeons who cut down one of your garden trees? So that is my guess for this week :) It is hard though so well done for such a clever puzzle!

  3. Someone attacking a tree trunk with a saw? Incidentally I guessed a gargoyle last week too. It seems that some of my comments are not getting through to you.

  4. John I just can't get a comment to stick on your site. I too guessed a gargoyle last week but my comment obviously didn't get through. This week I guess it is a
man up a tree trunk with a saw. Hope this one arrives.
