The Callistemon (bottle brush plant) may be somewhat straggly in growth
but the unusual brilliant red flowers make up for it
Even though it is not a native British plant it attracts a lot of bees.
I wonder what bottle brush honey tastes like.
This coming Autumn I will try to cultivate some cuttings.
I have never seen this plant before John - it is lovely - I shall read up about it. Windy and cold here in North Yorkshire.
ReplyDeleteI think I'll give this plant a try, as I have seen it growing in gardens nearby.
ReplyDeleteYes, take some cuttings and get a swarm of bees. Oh, and a hive for them to live in.
