An Elephant on the Path

On our morning walkies I spotted a movement on the footpath

DSCN0523

The larva of an Elephant Hawkmoth.

Surprisingly large at about 70mm long when fully extended.

  1. What a find. I can't remember who but someone told me never to pick up hairy caterpillars. They seem to be fine and have no ability to kill one.
