Penny's health had been deteriorating over the past month or more but over the past week she had lost her appetite and any interest in what was going on around her. This morning I phoned the vet surgery and booked an appointment for us to meet the senior vet. We agreed that there was no chance of her quality of life being improved so I sat with her on the grass in the surgery's garden as she was given an anaesthetic and said my final goodbyes.
Rest well my beloved 40mph couch potato.
This is terrible news. She had the best of lives with you and that is all we can do for our canine companions.
ReplyDeleteSo sorry for your loss.
ReplyDeleteI am so sorry for your loss, John. She was a sweetie and you gave her some wonderful years in exchange for the pleasure of her company - a win for both of you.
ReplyDeleteSorry to hear this John, she was a good companion. As the others have said she had a wonderful life with you.
ReplyDeleteI am so very sorry for your loss and you will miss her dreadfully. You gave her a lovely life and I am sure she was a wonderful companion.
ReplyDeleteSorry to hear about Penny John.
ReplyDeleteWe had to do the same some years ago and it is an awful, but necessary thing to have to do.
