After enjoying a nice carvery yesterday I spent a while in the garden trying to film some singing birds but they were as shy as ever. Instead I had a look round to see what colour was showing. So here it is - Flowery Friday.
- and not a red beetle in sight!
Yes it's been a good year for flowers, blossom and wild flora. grand photographs, thank you for sharing. there's a spotted wood pecker uses the peanut feeder at the Monsal Head Hotel, must put some peanuts out in summer. I heard three or four locally whilst they were establishing territory but they are illusive blighters, all the best.
ReplyDeleteThanks for visiting, Adrian. It has been a grand growing season all round - unfortunately for weeds as well. It was a real surprise to see the woodpecker as I had not heard any about.
ReplyDeleteWonderful blooms John - your garden must be a riot of colour at the moment!
ReplyDeleteThanks Tricia. Not really, just some individual plants which gave a better impression when photographed close up :)
ReplyDeleteA rainbow in your garden.
ReplyDeleteIt looks beautiful John, and cracking pictures.
Thank you Keith. Close up photos disguise the state a lot of the garden is in at the moment. At least I managed to cut the grass this morning, so it looks a little neater.
ReplyDeleteFantastic images - the montages (is that the right term?) work really well. Is that self-heal in the bottom left of the second photo? Looks stunning cloe up whatever it is.
ReplyDeleteI use the 'Collage' option in Picasa 3 from Google, Mark. It usually makes a decent job of auto arranging a group of photos. I have found it a very useful program - and all for free!
ReplyDeleteIf you meant to say bottom right then the answer seems to be yes (I had to look it up as I had no idea what is is) and my lawn is suddenly full of the stuff this year.
Lovely pictures and I'm guessing a lovely garden too.
ReplyDeleteThank you for visiting and your comment Helen. I wouldn't describe my garden as lovely. It's fairly bare but I do have a few areas with nice flowers.
ReplyDeleteFabulous shots John love your garden!!
