It may have been raining for hours but a back garden slowly disappearing under water was just the place for a quick wash and brush up for the Starlings.
No sound as I forgot to switch the external microphone on. It took a while to persuade the camcorder to focus on the birds as it preferred to record the rain running down the window.
And there I was thinking it was wet here.
ReplyDeleteMy lake isn't as big as the ones you have there - and no otters spotted here either ;)
ReplyDeleteYou just gotta love these birds. Never shy to seize an opportunity.
ReplyDeleteHello Keith. The Starling may well be a common bird but it is always up to something - a born survivor.
ReplyDeleteWe've had a long winter John and there doesn't seem to be any end to it.
ReplyDeleteGoodness! That is your lawn??? I shall expect to see Ducks and swans on it next :) Great piece of video. I also enjoyed the Blue Tits checking out the house again on the previous post, they sure are choosy!
ReplyDeleteHello Jan. My lawn always goes like that when there is significant rainfall. Some of the land around me is 18 to 24 inches higher so I get the run off and, of course, the ground is saturated anyway. Fortunately the building is a reasonable amount higher than the lawn.
ReplyDeleteI did have a duck on the pond for a short while a couple of years ago.
As I write this a Blue Tit is dithering back and forth again but not going inside the box.
True Roy. Plenty of rain for Sunday and I see snow symbols on one local forecast for next week.
