The Blue Tit pair are still examining the nest box. Every now and then they remove some of the dried grass stalks I put in after cleaning it out last Autumn. Last year all the wood shavings I put in were removed before they started to build a nest which unfortunately was abandoned part finished. Will they make a firm offer on such a desirable residence this year?
A silent video clip captured yesterday afternoon. Blue Tit box in the top two views.
Bottom right is the Robin box where the flickering shadows of nearby trees keep activating the recorder.
Lets hope they move in be good to see some chicks.
ReplyDeleteLooking good, John, looking good! I'm wondering, do you you have a camera planned for the empty spot in your video?
ReplyDeleteIt would be nice Adrian.
ReplyDeleteI can but hope Shirl. The 'empty' camera position is in use Shirl, just not set to record at the moment. That one is the hedgehog camera which also watches the ground feeder but as birds are always there it would be recording all day.
ReplyDeleteSeeing the ongoing activity does give me hope that Spring can't be too far away John although it is hard to believe at the moment, it is snowing quite heavily again here.
ReplyDeleteGlad you were able to get out and collect your parcel yesterday :)
So interesting to watch behaviour like that. I hope they move in, (and I'm pretty certain they will), and begin a family.
ReplyDeleteVery promising!
