Macro on Monday - Guess What

Congratulations to Glo and Wilma for gaining gold stars for their correct identification of last week's puzzle photo. It was indeed a Sunflower Seed.

This week there are two photos of different parts of the same object which has a seasonal flavour.

Clue: It will be on view until twelfth night.

No prizes for a correct identification. Just for fun.

  1. Looks like a loaf of bread John but I'll go for Christmas tree ot the cone from it.

  2. Well, that top photo looks like a bit of wood showing the tree rings, but I don't know what the lump of yellow stuff stuck to it could be. The bottom photo looks like a gold painted woody flower part. Don't know what they constitute, though. Given your clue, I am thinking it is part of a Nativity scene. You have me stumped!

  3. What a perfect time to win a Gold Star, thanks. I have placed it on the Christmas tree ;)

As for this one, I'll have to put on my thinking cap for longer.

Did you get a chance to see the lunar eclipse?

  4. I think I've had an epiphany ; I think it is a Christmas ornament or a Christmas candle holder.

  5. Glo: Cloud covered the eclipse just at the wrong moment so I missed that.
