Just the one video this week. It has been more than a bit on the dull side for much in the way of photography recently. When I first spotted this Blue Tit I wondered whether it had been in a scrap. Then I realised its downy feathers were still fluffed out as it was early morning and it had probably just woken up.
Sometimes I wish I had a camcorder which could film in very low light levels. As this morning was the first well below freezing for a while there were more Blackbirds milling round the lawn than ever at 7.30 a.m.. I gave up counting at forty. The previous few mornings the numbers had dropped to about a dozen.
Have a great weekend observing the wildlife around you.
Nice capture John! I think a lot of us look a bit tatty like that when we have just got out of bed, thank goodness there are no Midmarsh Johns' around to record us ;)
ReplyDeleteForty plus Blackbirds, goodness!!!
Your previous post was most impressive although I admit to barely understanding a word of it, the results were excellent though and the post title itself deserves a mention for sheer ingenuity :)
The clip is beautiful - the blue tit sips so daintily - and 40 blackbirds, no less. What a sight. The most I've seen is 12, but 40 - wow!
ReplyDeleteI look just like that when I wake up too!
ReplyDeleteHe's certainly alert in the mornings John; constantly looking around.
ReplyDelete40 Blackbirds! That must be quite a sight. You must have all the population of Lincolnshire's Blackbirds in your garden lol
Awww, what a little cutie. I think it wins first prize for its adorability ...(I made that word up for the occasion). I meant to mention in the post about the wet pigeon, that it is possible that the Birdy Bistro needs to supply a number of towels in the spa area ;) Poor thing, I felt sorry for it being so wet in the cold!
ReplyDeleteHello Jan. Cameras are a definite no no first thing in the morning lol.
ReplyDeleteThe colder the morning, the more Blackbirds there are. It was -2.5C yesterday.
Hello Twosie. Hope you are all keeping well. I keep thinking there can't possibly be more Blackbirds and then every so often they increase.
ReplyDeleteI'll take your word for that Matron lol.
ReplyDeleteIt did look fully awake Keith, if not fully 'dressed'.
ReplyDeleteI soon won't be able to see any grass if they keep fetching all their relatives. It just shows how many of a species there can be in an area when they all turn up at the same time. Blackbirds are obviously doing well round here.
It did look cute Glo.
ReplyDeleteI don't know about towels, maybe a covered area with a hair drier in the roof. lol.
What a grand little chap.
ReplyDeleteIt was Adrian.
