Spotted a Blue Tit right at the top of a tree next door but as I focussed on the little darling it flew off. Fortunately it returned lower down and in the open, staying there for a while while I took a few shots - almost as though it was posing for me:
A short while before that I had spotted a small bird in a Christmas Tree - one which my neighbour had planted out many years ago. I couldn't get a clear, sharp photo so this record shot has to do. I am reasonably certain it was a Goldcrest:
I have seen one visit on rare occasions in the past.
It certainly looks like a Goldcrest. A grand start to the year.
ReplyDeleteGreat to see something different Adrian.
Deletesweet little birds.
ReplyDeleteLove the photos of the Blue Tit, posed just so ~ such a sweet looking bird with its own distinctive markings. The Goldcrest looks similar to the Kinglet we have here. Happy New Year!
ReplyDeleteThey are Glo. Have a great year yourself and keep the floors dry.
DeleteLooks like that blue tit was flirting with you!
ReplyDeleteWilma. Could be. I was only a few feet away and in full view but it kept posing.
DeleteLovely blue tit shots. They don;t usually stay still for long enough. Lucky you to spot a goldcrest.
