Last Visit for 2015

Today was my last visit to the Wagon and Horses, South Reston, for a meal until next year.
Fish and Chips, excellent fresh fish which overhangs both sides of the plate and juicy chips.

Very peaceful at home today as Penny is having her dental work done at the vets and will be spending the night there.

My Christmas video is finally ready. Just need to upload a 300+MB file.
It should go live next Monday all being well.

  1. Sounds good. Chicken casserole here. I gave the dogs a bit of raw chicken.

    1. Weaver: Hard to get really fresh fish these days. Used to easy the Grimsby Fish Docks were thriving.

    1. SDT: Each area has its good places. Louth has just lost Mr. Chips restaurant where the food was always top quality.

    1. TWG: I have the feeling that you would find our chips very different. Battered fish has a taste all of its own and so much depend which oil or fat is used for the deep frying and how often it is changed.

  5. What a lovely, quaint place for a meal John! I was enthralled by the number of quaint pubs and eating places in the UK when I was there in 1989 and of course, amazed at the age of some of the buildings! Glad to hear Penny is OK after her surgery.

    1. Maree: Unfortunately many small country pubs have closed over the years but it does mean those remaining have to think hard about offering good food to attract customers. One really old coaching inn had a courtyard entrance high and wide enough for a coach and four horses to drive in. Now sadly closed.
