First Damsel of the Season

The first of the Blue Tailed Damselflies to emerge from the garden pond:

  1. I will go damsel hunting tomorrow. Dragons and damsels are thin on the ground here but it may be worth a look.

  2. Snap! We saw one here today too. Maybe ours had just emerged - I never thought about that at the time. I've never spotted one of these before. We've already had two pairs of Large Red Damselflies mating and laying eggs in the pond at the same time.

  3. There is no water here nearer than our beck and I have a feeling that damsel flies and the like prefer the still water of ponds. As usual, extremely good photograph - you must be building up quite a collection.
