I don't mean to be churlish but the lottery is a tax on the poor and the church has plenty of money. The lottery ought to be banned. I have yet to see a customer ask for the Financial Times and two scratch cards.
The price of scrap metal had fallen, so that may keep the thieves off next time. Don't see many scrappies in their badly driven deathtrap lorries any more.
Simon: That rings true. Used have weekly visits in the village from loud hailing scrap beggars but not heard for a few months now. ELDC has really clamped down on them.
Thank you for visiting. Hope you enjoyed the pictures. Any comment, or correction to any information or identification I get wrong, is most welcome. John
Yes it looks as if they are tenting the job. The Church has plenty of money so don't worry that they are spending a bit of it.
ReplyDeleteAdrian: Lots of cash from the likes of Heritage Lottery Fund. Total cost is around £250,000.

DeleteSome scaffolding I must say John - I expect something to do with Health and Safety - most things are these days.
ReplyDeleteWeaver: Yes indeed. Gone are the days when they used a bouncy wooden ladder tied in place with a bit of old rope.
