Monday Mystery

How time flies! It must be a year since I last had some mystery objects for you to try to identify. Hopefully I can keep finding things to keep it going for this year. Let's start the new year with this close shot of .....

    That reminds me of the gloves I have for handling hot things. Mine are dirtier than these tho! :)

    Puzzled by this one and thanks so much for returning with Monday Mystery. I thought at first something to put on a work surface to protect from hot pans but now have a better idea!!! Part of a glove that has a useful "grip" feature to it. Best I can do - look forward to solution :)
