Everyone was on the right track in assuming it was something to do with keeping cool. I do have an aircon unit but this was just a
fan unit as was correctly guessed by Wilma and Ragged Robin. I bought a couple of these some years ago when we last had a heatwave as it seemed to only way to get a flow of fresh air through the rooms. This one rotates and can 'pulse' the air flow by automatically changing between its three speed settings. My thanks to all who had a guess.

Sugar tongs. Can you still buy sugar cubes? I remember as a child going to my Grans, she used to buy lump sugar and had a machine that made cubes. Only on high days and holidays. Normal days it was crushed up and popped in a bowl.
ReplyDeleteI was close last week! This week they look like spoon tongs to me but I am not sure what you used them for. Are they used to pick up melon balls, grapes, or sugar cubes? You can tell I am really guessing here!! :)

We have a similar fan to yours and it is brilliant and easily portable. Not too noisy either! I am going to guess sugar tongs for this week????????
