Then There Were Two

The Pied Wagtail seems to be a resident these days. I have seen it in the garden every day until ...

... now two have visited the past couple of days. The lighting was poor and the photos are screen shots from a short piece of video I managed to take of them.

  1. Good news about the pair appearing.Pied Wagtail rarely appears here. In fact I can remember just one visit in really cold weather years ago. We have had more visits from Grey Wagtails mainly on passage I think.

  2. I googled "pied wagtail" to learn more about it. I don't believe we have them in Illinois. I often wonder about bird names and am curious on who decides the name.

  3. We had a couple come in to the garden when we lived at Hooton Pagnell. I haven't seen any here yet though.
