Not Seen for 38 Years ........
........ a full Moon:
According to reports it's the first time for 38 years a full Moon has been seen on Christmas Day. I photographed it early last night while there was a gap in the clouds.

Making it Move
For a New Year video I wanted to add an animated bell but all those I found ready made on the net were too small so I downloaded a large static bell which had a transparent background.
This I loaded in Serif Affinity Designer and after much experimentation I worked out how to enlarge the background space so the bell had room to move.
I finally sussed out how to rotate the graphic within the background and saved it in 15 different positions as the bell swung upwards:
These were then duplicated in the opposite order to give 30 stills of the bell swinging up and back to the start position:
Next was to make the animation. For this I used batchGif which is just pointed at the folder holding the stills and produces an animated GIF.
Unfortunately iMovie wouldn't load the animation so I had to use the free version of VideoPad to make the video:
To see the effect you will have to wait until New Year's Eve when the finished video will be uploaded. Not perfect as it really needs the bell clapper to animate as well but that sort of thing will have to wait for another experiment session.

Christmas Time Greetings
The candles use flicker flame mains bulbs, old technology can still be superior to LEDs for giving a living flame effect. Text and graphics were from various free fonts processed using Art Text 2.
The soundtrack is a short section from DJXMAS, a Protracker file (DJX.MOD) composed by 'Death Jester' in 1992 and released on the acme bbs in Huston. Ah, memories of the time when the Amiga ruled when it came to music production on a home computer.

Last Visit for 2015
Today was my last visit to the Wagon and Horses, South Reston, for a meal until next year.
Fish and Chips, excellent fresh fish which overhangs both sides of the plate and juicy chips.
Very peaceful at home today as Penny is having her dental work done at the vets and will be spending the night there.
My Christmas video is finally ready. Just need to upload a 300+MB file.
It should go live next Monday all being well.
