That's a great close-up shot of the bird. Your new camera is doing a very nice job. I also find my dslr a bit of a 'pain' to carry around all the time.
Hi there John, a fantastic shot. Beady eye is quite apt. How about a rhino skin beak too?
Just wanted to say thanks for following my bird photos blog. With all the good intentions in the world I really can’t find the time to keep it updated. I'll add any new photos of interest to my gardenwatch blog :-)
It’s a lovely sunny albeit chilly morning here. Hope its nice for your morning stroll :-D
Thank you for visiting. Hope you enjoyed the pictures. Any comment, or correction to any information or identification I get wrong, is most welcome. John
That's a cracking shot John. New camera is living up to expectations then.
ReplyDeleteNot this time Adrian. The photo was taken with the Canon 50D before I bought the Lumix.
ReplyDeleteCracking indeed John. A belter!

Thank you Keith. It was fortunate that it stayed so close. Gave me a chance for a decent close up.
ReplyDeleteHello Mick. Taken with the Canon 50D, not the Lumix. One ady I hope to get a similar shot with the Lumix to compare the results.
ReplyDeleteHello Shirl. I was fascinated by the markings on the beak. I think it was just under 3C for the morning stroll but pleasantly sunny.
ReplyDeleteSimply stunning, John! Why don't you offer that to a local wildlife charity for a post card!
ReplyDeleteHello Matron. That's a good thought. I'll look into the idea.
