A regular visitor to the home made feeder.
I have also seen them use the commercial feeder as well.
Really pleased today when I spotted a whole bunch of Long Tailed Tits descend on a peanut feeder. No photo though there may be some video for Friday.
they are such pretty ones!
ReplyDeleteThey are TexWisGirl.
DeleteIt looks much more natural John and it is no wonder they are attracted to it.
ReplyDeleteUnfortunately, Roy, the Starlings are grabbing most of it - nothing new there.
DeletePeanuts are a brilliant source of fat and protein, I just worry sometimes there is way too much salt for birds.
ReplyDeleteThis peanut butter is formulated without the salt Matron.
DeleteJohn, it is always such fun to have attracted a bird to a homemade feeder like this. Long may this be a popular spot through the winter.
ReplyDeleteWe’ve see a couple of glimpses of Long Tailed Tits too. The first time I was in the shed and came out to the lovely sound they make as they fly around in a group. Only one distant pic so far but holding out for video of them drinking at my small pond. My wish list video capture would be a line of Long Tailed tits on a simple perching bar I’ve just added near my pond :-D
Hello Shirl. It is very popular with quite a few birds. I think I will make another one for the Winter when they need the extra energy boost.
ReplyDeleteHope you get your line of LTTs - if they every stay in one place long enough ;)
