I have a large notice in the front door which says 'No Uninvited Callers' but certain types of caller always ignore it. I watch them on my security camera to see what they are up to. Today this one was videoed looking round before trying the doors to see whether they were locked after no one answered the door. That is one reason I always keep the front doors, inner and outer, locked and at least one bolt on the back door and the side gate. Unfortunately you can't trust any unknown visitor these days. There are many reports of sneak thieves roaming our villages.
Judge for yourself whether you would want this man to visit your property:
I also passed on a link to the video to the local police. If anything untoward happens in the area they will have a mug shot to refer to as a possible start point for investigation. In fact I soon had a reply from Lincolnshire Police requesting a visit to secure any potential evidence and intelligence.
he looks salesman-y but you never know.
ReplyDeleteTrue TWG but no salesman has a legitimate reason to try the doors to see whether they will open. Local villages have seen an increase in sneak thieves visiting recently so I am taking no chances.
DeleteIts a distinct possibility John, although I would have thought his next move would have been around the back if he could get there.
ReplyDeleteHi Roy, tall bolted side gates help to keep people out of that area. I wouldn't have bothered too much if he had kept his sticky mitts off my door handles ;)
DeleteNice capture John to add to rogues gallery.
