Whenever we go walkabout across the cricket field we are always being closely watched:
I'm sure those nice thick woolly coats were keeping them warmer than we were in a cold breeze though they must become heavy with all the rain we have had these past two days.
They can get a bit soggy but the fleece is so full of lanolin none gets through to the sheep. It does take some washing out of my jacket on the odd occasions we find them stuck in fences or brambles.
ReplyDeleteAdrian: I did wonder how well the lanolin would protect them.
DeleteI think they do keep reasonably warm John, although if it is very windy they have enough sense to find the sheltered side of a hedge and hunker down.
ReplyDeleteWeaver: I get the impression they can survive snow and cold weather reasonably well.
DeleteThose legs look too flimsy to do the job!
ReplyDeleteWilma: They certainly do, especially when they have a full coat of wool.
