Murky Moth

Poor photo as I could only photograph it through murky greenhouse glass:

An Oak Eggar or Northern Eggar moth.
At about 45mm across I was pleased there was glass between it and me.

    1. Simon: Can't help it. I just go cold all over when it comes to moths.

  2. What a beauty. I have only ever seen one and the poor thing must have been attacked by a bird as it had lost nearly all its wings :(
