I think I can claim a win this time.
Last week's mystery photo
was recognised by everyone as the bud of a plant, but what plant?
Actually it was the flower bud on one of my Cymbidium Orchids.
The only one to produce a flower spike this year.
My thanks to all who had a go at identifying it.
This time I have a macro photo for you.
The result of seven focus stacked shots.
The actual size of the object is about 10mm.
If you think you know, or would like to make a guess, please leave your guess in the comments. They will be revealed, along with the answer, next Monday.
A bit of frozen pond.
ReplyDeleteA grain of salt.
ReplyDeleteI never could get an orchid to bloom again! Good for you! This week it looks like a piece of rock salt (like I throw on my sidewalk to thaw the ice). Thanks again, John, for the challenge each week!
ReplyDeleteA large grain of sea salt?
ReplyDeleteThe orchid is indeed very beautiful. I am currently reading "Orchid Summer" about a guy who spent a year trying to see all the species of English orchids. It is a super book and makes you want to go out and look for orchids!
ReplyDeleteThis week's mystery is a puzzle! It looks like ice of some sort. Although the wrong shape I am going to guess a hail stone????? Thanks again for providing these puzzles :)
Some sort of crystal, but what? I do not know. LOL
