Yesterday I had to nip to my local medical practice to collect my monthly medication. They were taking precautions against spreading the dreaded lurgy. We had to queue outside. They had even put out cones every 2m to keep people an appropriate distance apart. I had arrived early so was first in the queue. A young man, complete with gloves and face mask, asked me my name and address, went inside, collected the tablets and brought them out to me.
More interesting bugs were these woodlice (pill bugs) I found (no sound)
Do you see what I spotted on our daily walkabout?
A shield bug
Most probably a Hawthorn Shield Bug.
I have often looked at Woodlice and wondered what they are doing. Nice find with the Shield Bug.
ReplyDeleteI wish I could get rolling tobacco on prescription.
Hope all is well.
Adrian: It's 3 or 4 yrs since I last bought any tobacco products. I hate to think how much they cost now. When I started smoking while at college cigarettes from the on site machine cost 2s 6d for a pack of 18.
ReplyDeleteThick end of £25.00p for 50g of rolly. Bloody ridiculous, be a shame if I die from Covid-19 having paid thousands for tobacco.
DeleteThey really are like hoovers - woodlice that is. Thanks.
ReplyDeleteThe shieldbug is a Common Green Shieldbug- tend to be this muddy brown colour when they emerge from their winter torpor.
ReplyDeleteConehead54: Many thanks for that information.
DeleteLovely photos of the woodlice and shieldbug. Glad to see the pharmacy is taking precautions. I thought I had arranged last week with the doctors for mine to be delivered but as it hasn't turned up I have a horrid feeling I will have to collect it!
