Two of the smallest Sunflowers are now in full bloom and one of the larger variety is beginning to open. These photos were taken of the small ones. Total height of the stems is only up to knee height and the flowers are about 3in (75mm) diameter.
Here is a close up photo of one of them - uncropped.
Close up taken with The Canon EOS M5 fitted with 18-150mm zoom lens and the Raynox DCR-150 Macro / Close-up conversion lens.
The geometry of flowers is amazing, as is your close up of the whorls.
ReplyDeleteThe whorls are a Fibonacci spiral, snail shells and many other natural things do it. How a plant works that out is a wonder of the world.
DeleteWilma: Thank you. As there is little else of interest going on in the garden I may try for some close views of a few different flowers for a change.
DeleteThese are beautiful, Just as well as if it's anything like here there's precious little else to snap.
ReplyDeleteAdrian, thank you. Incredibly quiet on the wildlife front. Very few birds visiting the feeders. I almost got a bug photo but it kept moving and when an interesting ichthemon wasp came into view it decided it was camera shy as soon as I aimed the camera.
DeleteThe photos are lovely and the sunflowers so beautiful. Just perfect. We had a miniature one in a pot at the caravan.
ReplyDeleteThose flowers are lovely - an unexpected treat for your garden as the seasons change. Your close up is amazing!
