Garden Spider

I was tidying up a pile of wood when I spotted this large spider.
I assume it belongs to the group of sheet web spiders:

P1030766

P1030765

P1030767

Overall length would have been 35 to 40mm
Taken with the TZ7

  1. That's a spider and a half John! I've seen ones like it appear when moving things in the shed from time to time, they can make you step back a bit when first revealed ;-)

    1. It was big enough Jan. I was surprised it stayed put while I photographed it.

    1. Thank you for visiting and leaving a comment Bonnie. The Lumix TZ7 is a great camera for getting close in to things.

  4. Not the largest around here but big enough to hope it doesn't decide to come indoors.
