A lovely photo of a bird which looks so exotic and always brightens the garden. The juveniles always look to me like they have forgotten to put their clothes on :-) The photo on your earlier post of a juvenile and a Starling was a great capture. The Starling looked very haughty and superior :-) I also liked the Robin photo on that post.
I also enjoyed your pond post. I'm not too up on pond life so was interested to see your Pond Skater. I have a feeling when I have seen them I thought they were flies which had fallen in the water...silly me!
The squirrel with fur missing did look a bit mangey but I read that they moult twice a year so hopefully it may just be that.
Fascinating the way Pond Skaters can use the surface tension on water to move around on it. They are voracious hunters and can scoot across the water at quite a speed.
Ah - I forgot to mention moulting as a possible cause. It seems healthy enough and comes raiding at least once a day.
Thank you for visiting. Hope you enjoyed the pictures. Any comment, or correction to any information or identification I get wrong, is most welcome. John
This has brightened up a very dull Sunday.
