Friday at the Flicks - Bathing Starling
No matter what the weather or the temperature the Starlings always take advantage of any water to have a good shower every day:
I don't know what is going on with YouTube. This is the second time recently they haven't automatically picked out a thumbnail for a video. I had to upload my own.
File size can vary wildly with videos. In camera this clip was 340MB. Once loaded in iMovie and the title added it was only 80MB when saved. Processed it with Final Video Converter Pro which squeezed it down to 20MB.
Have a great weekend observing the wildlife around you.

I love the way it pauses for a drink.
ReplyDeleteI have endless trouble pre-compressing video so that YouTube don't do it for me. They can make a real hash of the job. I hope I have sussed the system. I render to H264 at 720. Then I re-render at YouTube pre-set 720 25fps. The files are quit big about a megabyte per second for upload but I have been half satisfied with the last few I've done. I get a choice of three thumbnails and just pick one.
Adrian: Nothing quite like having a sip of your bath water.
DeleteWhen the video uploaded it showed the three thumbnails but by the next morning they had disappeared.
birds are always so fun to watch in the bath.
ReplyDeleteTWG: They are always so energetic when bathing.
DeleteAt the moment my favourite bit of wildlife is to watch a pied wagtail feeding its young on our front lawn - she has been there all week and is a joy to watch.
ReplyDeleteWeaver: I used to see a lot of Pied Wagtails around the village but very few recently.
DeleteThey sure seem to enjoy it.
ReplyDeleteWilma: Bird bath time looks to be a serious business.
DeleteWhat a refreshing bath your starling enjoyed ~ with a sip or two in the midst. Such a perky little soul!
ReplyDeleteGlo: They really do make a good job of keeping clean.
