Monday Mystery

Last week's close view ...

DSCN1128

... didn't fool Kev Scott and Ragged Robin who both sussed out it was part of a cricket practice net.

Well done to both and my thanks to all who had a guess.

Struggling to find something I was totally satisfied with for this week but here goes.

DSCN1136

What, in general terms, made the patterns in this rock? As always, if you would like to make a guess please leave it in the comments. They will be revealed, with the answer, next Monday.

  1. You are winning hands down with these offerings.
It looks like polished granite with calcite inclusions so water.

  2. I was close with my answer last week at it was a sport's net. I just guessed the wrong sport!
This week I am guessing that water makes the swirls in that rock.

  3. That is a difficult one as could be a mineral of some sort or a fossil. Going to guess a fossil not sure which one (Belemnite or something similar I would think). As rock is polished it makes it harder :)
