Another experimental video using Mandelbulber 3D v2.
A more colourful, complex shape.
Video made from 360 rendered stills which took 6.5 hrs to create.
Some in the middle of the animation sequence went a bit haywire so were omitted.
I noticed that the still background was rendered fresh every time which added to the time taken.
The close zoomed section ended up faster than I wanted.
Lots of learning to do regarding choosing where to put keyframes for a smooth flight.
Very good. Something I aspire to.
ReplyDeleteIs it possible to render as a series of PNGs with an Alpha channel? It is easy then to pop the still image into the video editor and the Mandelbulb on top of it as an alpha over strip.
This is where the new Blender EEVEE render engine really scores. Don't think I have had a frame render at over 6.5s and most stuff is one or two. If you are ray tracing then this would account for the time but for youtube it is overkill. One can get away with murder on Youtube.
Adrian: PNG yes but don't think I can pick and choose channels. Three stills went completely wrong and took over 15 mins each. Something to do with camera crashing into pixels I think. Maybe use a green or blue background depending on the colours used in the subject and then use green screen in the video editor to add a background graphic.
